My name is Zintle Nxanga. In June 2016 my 13year old daughter Mbali was diagnosed with leukemia and began treatment immediately. During the day I was with her at hospital and later I would go and sleep at the CHOC house in East London because at the time my other son Zenani was 18months old so I could not stay with him at the hospital.
The support I’ve received from CHOC has been amazing, as I am from a small village in Whittlesea 192 Km to East London. I had no family to visit me but I didn’t feel it because CHOC provided me and the children with everything that we needed. What CHOC does for us as parents makes us want to be better people because when you receive such kindness and support you are also inspired to be kind and supportive to other parents who are new at the ward.
My heart is always filled with gratitude when I think of what CHOC has done for me and my children. To Debbie and Nan from CHOC East London, thank you so much for the kindness that you have shown to my children through this difficult time.
Sis Thandi – CHOC Social Worker, we as parents are blessed to have someone like you taking us through this frenetic journey.
Thank you once again!
