This year’s Maritzburg SPAR Women’s 10/5km Challenge, took place around Alexandra Park in the capital city on Sunday, August 20.
An expected field of 4,500 runners/walkers took part over the 10km and 5km distances along the same routes as the last two years. The race, starts alongside Maritzburg College’s main rugby field, Goldstones, in Princess Margaret Drive, ending at The Oval cricket stadium, with both the 10km and 5km races beginning simultaneously at 8.00am.
CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation (CHOC) was the official race charity and R2 from every entry was donated to CHOC. Last year the race entries managed to clock up R8 000 in donations to this important organization that supports children with cancer and their families. This year they raised R9 000 for CHOC. Our gratitude goes out to Brad Glaspoole for his continued support.
Thank you for choosing CHOC and giving us the opportunity to create awareness.
