The patients, their caregivers and the ward staff enjoyed a very special time at the ward in the week leading up to Easter. During the children’s CHOC Interactive Play and Skills programme they made various items like Easter bonnets and baskets and also learnt why we celebrate Easter and the significance of Easter eggs.
There was also a lot of practising, by the moms and kids, of the songs of praise in preparation of the ward Easter Service. The Easter Service was a very special event with Rev. Noluthando delivering an Easter message and volunteers and members of the Bonza Bay Rotary Club provided palm crosses, hot cross buns, bracelets, Easter eggs and soft toy bunnies. The highlight of the service was undoubtedly the magical singing of the patients and parents with a beautiful rendition of “You raise me up” Our thanks go to all who ensured the success of the very special celebration.
