We asked Mosa why she as a bereaved parent wanted to get involved with CHOC.
Here is Mosa Sibanda’s story: After my son passed away, I chose to volunteer at CHOC because I believe that by giving back to the community I will be able to serve a greater purpose in the lives of many parents and children fighting childhood cancer. My son died of leukaemia, so I understand and know how it feels to be in hospital with a sick child and I would be happy to help those who are going through such an experience. I know that my son Lwandle Ethan is proud and happy of what his mommy is doing so that I can, through my volunteering at CHOC, honour his memory by being a helping hand in the community through my experience. I do this out of love, making the children smile brings joy out in me.
I have attended the Ward Volunteer program and I enjoy going to the hospital and pampering the parents and the children.
