The Lotus River District Hospital invited CHOC Western Cape Region to conduct an Early Warning Signs Workshop with the General Practitioners and Registered Nurses employed at the facility. This happened on 07 October 2016. Prof Alan Davidson from Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital facilitated the session and it was a great success. Workshops such as the Early Warning Signs Workshops with Primary Healthcare Practitioners helps to improve the supportive services and referral pathways amongst decision makers. An Early Warning Signs education session was also hosted by CHOC with the Baby Clinic mothers/ caregivers at the Grassy Park Clinic on 07 September 2016. The benefits of the Early Warning Signs Workshop in Grassy Park Clinic is that the parents/ caregivers and Nurses attending the session would be able to identify the symptoms if it presents itself.
